Seasonal Retail Theme Design

This was a campaign I created during my time at The School Of Advertising Art, which challenged us to design a campaign that would take place during the springtime. I like to think outside of the box and wanted to take a route people wouldn’t normally go - showing the rainy side of spring. Other retailers would be using florals and pastel colors, so this would absolutely stand out against them. I came up with the tagline “There’s a storm coming. Embrace it.” as a way of saying let loose and be free; I also created this handwritten typography to appeal to American Eagle’s younger audience.

This project is really special to me because I used my beautiful sister as my model. (And yes, I may also have used myself as a model, taking “show yourself in your work” quite literally! Jokes aside, I had a vision for what I wanted and knew I could pull it off.

I must have done something right because it earned me two design Awards - the 2013 GDUDSA Magazine Award and the 2014 Hermes Bronze Addy Award.
